Taiwan Index Plus and Taipei Exchange to Launch the Taiwan Bio Index 2017/07/14 16:00
Taiwan Index Plus Corporation (TIP), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Taiwan Stock Exchange, along with the Taipei Exchange (TPEx), launched the new TIP Taiwan Market Biotechnology and Medical Care Index (TIP Taiwan Bio index).
The TIP Taiwan Bio Index is the first cross-market index to reflect the performance of over 50 biotech companies from both the TWSE and the TPEx. Constituents range from Taiwan giants with diverse portfolios to smaller companies. The index targets 90% coverage of the biotechnology and medical care sector market capitalization in both the TWSE and TPEx exchanges. With no fixed number of index constituents, the TIP Taiwan Bio Index is able to reflect the ongoing evolution of this market’s structure. It currently has 52 constituents.
Amongst the 52 components of the TIP Taiwan Bio Index are the following stocks: OBI Pharma Inc., TaiMed Biologics Inc., St.Shine Optical Co.Ltd., PharmaEssentia Corp., TTY BIOPHARM COMPANY LIMITED, GRAPE KING BIO LTD, Pharmally International Holding Co. Ltd., PharmaEngine Inc., Ginko International Co. Ltd., and ScinoPharm Taiwan Ltd.
Published in TWD, the TIP Taiwan Bio Index is based on 5000 at the close of trading date, July 14th, 2017. The composition of the Index is adjusted quarterly.
